A very popular and lovely group of plants, Rhipsalis are native to the forests of tropical or subtropical regions of the Americas.  Epiphytic, they grow from the branches of trees and are particularly well-suited to hanging baskets.  They like a frost-free position with filtered sunlight, or morning light with afternoon shade.  They should be watered regularly in Spring and Summer, but be kept dry in Winter.
